 Landec’s partnership with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. involves the use of the Intelimer® polymer technology in the fields of personal care, thermoset catalysts, and household and industrial cleaners. Within this partnership, Landec develops new technoogy and Air Products provides manufacturing, marketing and global distribution for products from the Intelimer technology. Intelimer polymers are used in personal care lotion and cream applications to control rheological flow properties and improve texture, touch and feel in personal care products, for example, in L’Oreal’s Lancome, Kiehl’s, Vichy, Laroche-Posay and L’Oreal brands. In the latent thermoset catalyst area, Landec’s Intelimer technology can be used in epoxy, polyurethane, unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester thermoset products. Landec’s Intelimer technology users can trigger the release of a catalyst by heating a material above a pre-set temperature switch. Latent epoxy catalysts, and are sold through Air Products and latent unsaturated polyester catalysts are sold through Air Products’ European distributor, Akzo Nobel.
